The title "Dirty, Stupid Music" comes from a quote attributed to composer Erik Satie. Satie worked as a pianist at Le Chat Noir, thought to be the first modern cabaret — a nightclub where the patrons sat at tables and drank alcoholic beverages while being entertained by a variety show on stage. Satie disliked his own cabaret work, claiming, "it is more stupid and dirty than anything.”
Liza Minnelli (Jillian Snow Harris) crashes Corkscrew Wine Bar to sing some signature songs at Showtune Sunday. Courtney Freed hosts and sings & Mont Chris Hubbard dazzles on the piano. Expect some singing surprises from Portland's vocal community!
